Why are we doing this?

Elon Musk is quite possibly the most dangerous man in the world. At the time of this writing he appears to be the most powerful individual in the US government. This is in spite of the fact that Elon is a documented fraud and dyed-in-the wool nazi. Among his recent accomplishments are:

  • Seized control of the Office of Budget Management (OBM) and the Office of Personnel Management (OPM). These are the historically “apolitical” offices that maintain the most basic functioning of the Federal Government by handling the payments from the treasury to fund the other agencies and serve as the federal government’s human resources department respectively.
  • Cancelled all funding for USAID and nearly every program that could be tied to so-called “DEI.” This has, among other things, left thousands of American’s stranded overseas as USAID can no longer pay for their return flights; Ended grants for basic cancer and Alzheimer’s research due to the presence of words like “transgenic” (referring to genetically modified cells for medical research) or “women” in grant descriptions.
  • Accessed data and sometimes full system control over dozens of agencies including the Federal Aviation Agency, the Treasury, and Health and Human Services. This means that Elon Musk has your social security number, your medicaid status, and the responsibility to ensure that your plane reaches its destination intact.

This is not a comprehensive list and yet the ability to take these actions would make someone the most powerful person in the US Government. Elon Musk is the most powerful person in the most powerful Government in the world and he is quite literally stealing our parents’ and grandparents’ aid money to fund contracts for his companies.

Our aim is to get Elon out of power by destroying his net worth. Most of Elon’s money comes from his ownership of Tesla stock. When Tesla’s stock price goes down, Elon’s net worth goes down. As of Wednesday February 26, Musk had lost $75 billion dollars since the start of 2025 due largely to the drop in Tesla’s share price. We can do better.

Being the richest person in the world, Elon is untouchable. However, Donald Trump is not the kind of guy to keep a mere millionaire in a position to overshadow him. If we can decimate Elon’s market cap, we can decimate his power.

Do we hate Tesla owners?

No. We understand that you probably did not buy your car in order to usher in a brutal system of techno-feudalism. Instead, we assume that you, like us, wanted to do your part for the environment. This puts both of us in an uncomfortable position.

We need your help. Tesla owners, more than the owners of other brands, play a role in advertising their cars to their peers. Tesla relies heavily on word of mouth advertising. When you talk about loving your car or post pictures of it on social media, you are serving as Tesla’s marketing department. Whether or not you include a caveat about Musk, you are working for him.

We do not hate Tesla owners and yet we are inconveniencing them. The morality of this situation is clear: the feelings of Tesla owning allies are important but stopping a fascist coup is more important.

What can Tesla owners do?

Not all Tesla owners can do all of these things, but every Tesla owner can do some of them:

  1. Endorse the protest movement against Tesla.
  2. Stop saying positive things about Tesla.
  3. Join a protest (get started at teslatakedown.com).
  4. Dump TSLA stock.
  5. Sell your car.

What if a Tesla owner can’t sell

We’re sure you know this but Teslas are expensive. In fact, Tesla’s are far more expensive than the other electric car brands. If you bought your car because of climate change, rather than luxury or status, you have options:

  • Nissan Leaf (2025 MSRP $28,140)
  • Fiat 500e (2025 MSRP $32,500)
  • Hyundai Kona Electric (2025 MSRP $32,875)
  • Ford Mustang Mach-E (2025 MSRP 36,495)

There are many more expensive new options as well as cheaper options if you are willing to go used.

We are also pleased to inform you that your car is worth at least $20k and almost certainly far more according to Kelley Blue Book. That number is not going to go up.

Everyone will be making sacrifices in the near future, some of us will do so unintentionally as Musk and his allies take our jobs. Others will sacrifice intentionally in an attempt to build a better world. We invite you to join us in the latter.
